Timothy Arn started in the housing field forty years ago building homes on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Tim built homes from the ground up for almost two decades. During this time he was also co-owner of a real estate company on the Outer Banks.
After selling his businesses and moving off the outer banks Tim spent five years as a full time Dad with three children. When the kids got older and all in school, he then went back to school and earned his second degree. Timothy decided to put his extensive background in housing and construction to work again and started Home Spec of NC, Inc. Over the last thirty years or more he has grown this business adding certifications and licenses to build the brand that is Home Spec of NC, Inc. He continues to hold his NC General Contractors License, NC Plumbers License and NC Home Inspectors License in addition to being a Certified Microbial Investigator testing indoor air quality, BPI Certified Envelope Specialist, BPI Certified Building Analyst, and a Certified Healthy Homes Practitioner. In this field one must remain abreast with the latest technology and in the last fifteen years Tim has added certifications in Septic and On-site Waste-water Systems, has acheived EPA lead RRP Certification and has become Environments for Living Certified as a Master of Building Science. Home Spec also offers FHA Engineer foundation inspections and has added the covetted Council-Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant, CIEC designation
